Changes.
Every change to this site, one line a commit, newest first. Nothing here is written after the fact. It is the log.
- 2026-09-24
- The ticker asks it in fewer words now: need a website, or a better one?
- The ticker's third line loses its full stop, so the dots between the beats are the only marks on the line.
- The ticker under the headline says it in five beats now: the count, the one in four, why it matters, the question, and the walkthrough.
- On a phone, the headline now breaks into four lines and stands 53 pixels tall, with the whole hero held together in the middle of the screen.
- The site's code passes a full type check now, and the colophon says the tips switch is kept for the session like the pickers.
- In forced colours, a switch that is on and a menu that is open now show in the system's highlight, and the hidden film no longer plays.
- The colophon gives the front page's weight as it is now, about 750 KB with the film playing and about 130 KB before it.
- Every share card now shows the street at night behind its headline, with one plain sentence under it that says what the page is, and every word clears AAA contrast.
- The browser tab shows the new logo everywhere now, Safari included, and the agreement has its own share card.
- The tips start off now, and a small TIPS switch in the top bar turns them on and off.
- In every page's footer, the last line never starts with a dot on a phone.
- The Now page counts forty-six pages, which is how many the site has since the agreement.
- A section's size badge no longer breaks onto two lines beside a long label on a phone.
- The price line under a headline no longer splits a price from its words, so Websites from $4,500 always reads as one piece.
- The Curb Check's result reads across the page now, 0 OF 10 on one line, where it had been squeezed into a narrow column on every screen.
- On a phone, every full-width button now says Book the walkthrough on one line, on every page.
- The menu's list of the front page now reads the way the page does: Hero, 01 to 08, and the Footer.
- On a phone, the menu's button now says MENU, and CLOSE while it is open, and the menu's first line tells a stranger they are inside the file that built the page.
- Whatever is on the screen a page opens on now shows at once, so a section at the bottom edge never sits blank waiting for a scroll.
- A jump from the menu to any part of the page now lands it just under the top bar, not behind it.
- On a phone, the numbered tips no longer sit on the page.
- On a phone, the headline has air above it now, sits on three lines the way it does on a laptop, and the hero fills exactly one screen.
- On a phone, the film behind the headline plays now, and if the phone refuses to start it on its own, the first touch does.

- The agreement's PDF is the fourth version, four pages in green, blank, with v4 in every footer.
- The agreement's fourth version closes three more gaps: late material can no longer stall a build forever, he can leave out what he believes is untrue, and the paper can move to a company he owns.
- The colophon says the agreement runs to four pages, which it does since the third version.
- The agreement's PDF is the third version, four pages in the site's green, blank, with v3 in every footer.
- The agreement is in the site's green now, from a green masthead to a Before you sign panel that lists what the paper promises the owner, rule by rule.
- The agreement's PDF is the second version now, still three pages and blank, with v2 in every footer.
- The agreement is on its second version: it now says when the site is finished and the second half is due, and a client who stops after that still owes it.
- The agreement comes as a PDF too, three pages and blank, to print at home in black and white and sign by hand.
- There is an agreement now, the paper you sign before any money moves, blank on its own page and in plain words, with blanks that fill in on screen and print on three Letter pages.

- In the Studio, Change now works on the ink too, any hue held deep enough that every word keeps its contrast, with a tone from muted to vivid and no browns.
- In the Studio, every color readout now follows the page, so Invert moves each name and chip with its hex and the Assets tab shows the colors in use.
- In the Studio, the name beside the third color now follows the color Change picks, so a blue reads Blue and Reset brings back Green.
- On a phone, the button in the top bar now reads off-white on the green, as it does on a laptop.
- Curb to Click has a logo now: one line that runs along the street, up the curb, along the sidewalk, and turns into the cursor.
- The Studio's grid overlay is plain to see now: each of the twelve columns is filled and edged in green, and numbered at the top of the window.
- In the Studio, Change now takes the green to any color on the spectrum, and every word on it turns ink or off-white, whichever reads better.
- The Studio's Design panel now comes in cells, each in one of the site's three colors with a caption and a plain line, the way Assets does.
- 2026-09-21
- The Studio's Design panel no longer keeps a version history.
- The Studio's Design panel has no Prototype tab now, only Design.
- Every headline now has even air between its lines, the big ones on the front page, the city pages, the booking page and the 404 included.
- The front page's headline always reads Is your business better than your website?, whatever city or business the visitor looked at before.
- The film behind the headline starts on its own when the page loads, without waiting for a scroll.
- The fit check lets a band line wrap to two lines below 1300 wide, where Someone else comes up first. does on a tablet.
- The Studio's Machines tab is called AI search now, and it says so: the tools people ask, the five facts they look for, the labels in the code, and the summary.
- The Assets tab is five cells now, colors, type, icons, files and data, each in its own color and each saying what it is.
- The Layers panel folds now: the pages and each section's parts open on a tap, so on a phone it opens on the page's sections alone.
- The film behind the headline starts again whenever you scroll with it in view, so it keeps looping after you scroll away and come back.
- In Safari better no longer rises into the line above it, and on a phone the film behind the headline now shows the street, where people walk and cars turn.
- About's walkthrough and the phone beside the Curb Check now finish drawing by the middle of the screen, and the shop on the booking page draws in its order again.
- The big callout lines breathe too: when one wraps, like a step's name on a laptop, its two lines no longer touch.
- The section headlines breathe now: their lines sit a clear gap apart, and a marked line takes the same gap as the rest.
- The street behind the headline is lighter now, so the film reads on a laptop, and the photographs behind every city and trade headline lift with it.
- Every green swipe now keeps a clear 8px more air above and below, so on a phone better sits well clear of BUSINESS once the headline lands.
- Under the prices, THIS now wears the marker: a white swipe with green words when its band lights green, a green swipe when it does not.
- The plan's three drawings now finish drawing by the time they reach the middle of the screen, on the front page and every city and trade page.
- The print shop case on About now shows the 11Alive news desk the day the signs made the news, in place of the catalogue of signs.
- About's headline now marks its whole second sentence, That's not the hard part., in one green stroke that sweeps on as it comes up.
- The green swipe under better now leaves clear air above and below it, on every page and on the share cards.
- The share cards are at night now, off-white words on ink, with better on the green swipe and the question's last words hollow, as the heroes are.
- Every city and trade page now opens at night, its question over a photograph of the trade, the way the front page opens over a street.
- The 404 page shows an empty Atlanta street now, the signs pointing to 75 and 85, in place of a street in Houston.
- The green marker never covers a word it does not mark now, and the front page's last headline has its sting, best website, marked in ink.
- On paper the front page leaves the lookup out, since nobody can type into a printed box.
- Going from page to page, the new page is pasted over the old one like a poster on a wall, top to bottom, on the same slant as the marker.
- You can look your own business up on the front page now, and see what the public map already says about your name, your phone, your hours and your website.
- Each page now ships only the styles it uses, so every page but six is about a kilobyte lighter.
- The street under the headline is a street at night now, with the lamps lit and the words in white, where it used to be washed to grey.
- From tablet width up, a band's icon sits in the number column beside its number, so the longest lines hold at every width again.
- The notes in the page's source stay in the source now, so the front page ships 600 fewer bytes and paints on time.
- The film under the headline is Midtown Atlanta at dusk now, people walking past with the spire behind them.
- The three new drawings style themselves globally under their own class, so their paths carry no scope attribute and the front page is lighter.
- The four ways in are led by a pin, a shop as a window, two squares together and a signpost.
- About shows Brandon now, and the two campaigns under it come with their pictures and a line each on why they are here.
- What you get leads with a marker on the words it isn't, and a door, a sheet and a phone lead its three bands.
- Under Asking AI, the way people find a business now is drawn in four steps, and every assistant in the list has a mark beside its name.
- The tally's marks count from their group now, so the page carries less markup for the same drawing.
- The marked words sit on a swipe of green marker now, in a marker's own hand, leaning a little.
- The count is drawn now: four shop fronts beside the figure, one of them an outline, and a tally that never stops counting under the words.
- The marked words are painted with a brush now, four drawn icons lead the stakes, and the phrase someone else gets the paint too.
- The notes pinned to each page are now called tips, and the third tip on the front page opens above its pin, where nothing covers it.
- The outlined words in the headline now trace only the outer edge of each letter, with no lines crossing inside the E or the T.
- 2026-09-19
- One word in the headline now sits in a solid green block, and two section heads take the colour on the word that carries them.
- Every drawing on the site is redrawn with a heavier hand, and each one now builds itself in two passes, lines first and then the solid shapes.
- The accent colour is sign green now, because green signifies money and it means go.
- The site is set in a new face, Bricolage Grotesque, drawn with a little deliberate wrongness in it and cut down to twenty-two kilobytes.
- 2026-09-18
- A plan step's drawing now prints in black even when its band is lit on screen.
- The walkthrough drawing and the drawn phone on the front page keep their heavy lines on paper and in the phone view.
- Two heavy lines in the plan's drawings, the shop's sign and the sheet's heading, now show on paper and in the phone view.
- A small tool now shoots one screen of one page as a visitor sees it, so a single change can be checked in one look.
- The gate's copy sweep now reads the text files the build writes, so a semicolon in llms.txt cannot slip through again.
- On the booking form an error that wraps onto a second line now hangs clear of its red dot.
- On a laptop the About section now sets the found shop front and the drawn one side by side, so the right half of the screen is no longer black for a screen and a half.
- The plan filled in for this site now prints on a single page, and a closed fix's date no longer breaks across two lines.
- The colophon, the credits and the study's note for reporters now say what is true today.
- The Website's price now says the photographs are in it, on the front page, on every city and trade page, in the questions and in the summary the machines read.
- The numbered notes no longer sit on top of words on a phone.
- The booking form now asks where to write back, an email or a number, so a booking can be answered.
- On the front page a strip of the headline no longer shows through between the night street and the 1 in 4.
- The Studio's file now has a fifth version, the director's cut, and two new notes: one on the phone beside the Curb Check, one on the drawn shop on the booking page.
- The hollow website now arrives solid and drains to its outline once the headline lands, and the page that is not there says Not on the map in outline.
- After booking, the page that says Got it now shows your own shop drawn, your name on the sign, the door open with the light on, and the pin where I will stand.
- On the booking page a shop front drawn in the site's hand now carries the owner's name on its sign as they type it, and a red pin where I will stand.
- In the headline the business is now solid and its website is the outline of one, on the front page, on every city and trade page, and on their share cards.
- In high-contrast mode every button now shows its label, a picked answer shows as picked, and the maps and drawings show their lines.
- When your system asks for more contrast, the greys now go to full ink, as the colophon has promised since the ninth.
- Beside the Curb Check's question, the phone from About now draws itself: what a stranger's phone shows of your shop.
- The site's code is plainer: the Studio's script has its own file, and the questions, the plan's sheet and the numbered bands each live in one place.
- The plan's three steps are now drawn in the site's own hand, and each drawing draws itself as you scroll to it, on the front page and on every city and trade page.
- A failed booking post now says why in plain words and offers another try before the email.
- The study's one code block is plain type again, the web manifest carries the poster's colours, and the sitemap stops stamping every page as changed at every build.
- The Studio's Desktop and Mobile labels no longer hide the colophon's scores table on a phone, and the guide's first note waits for a scroll instead of opening over the headline.
- The page after booking now shows a door half open, the next thing that happens.
- Every city page now shows a photograph of the trade it has most of, and both plan pages open on a plan being written.
- About now shows a drawing of the walkthrough, and the two campaigns under it link to their cases.
- The sample plan marks hello@curbtoclick.com done, and asks for the photograph inside a shop, not at a curb.
- Four places now wait for a photograph of Brandon: About, the booking page, the sample plan and the share cards.
- 2026-09-17
- The front page's share card now describes what it shows, not the site's name twice.
- The business listing Google reads now carries the phone number the footer already shows.
- About now promises a photograph of Brandon on a walkthrough, not at a curb.
- The site's test probe now types into the footer's lookup, since the front page no longer has its own.
- The count on the front page now says it in two numbers: 8,937 businesses, about 2,335 with no working website.
- llms.txt no longer tells assistants the site has no images.
- The changes page no longer opens old lines with the build plan's step numbers.
- Every deploy now leaves out 44MB of images no page ever showed.
- The site's address is now hello@curbtoclick.com.
- The booking page promises the plan within two days.
- The site says when I answer.
- The shot keeps its own air, and the cities page moves its picture below the map.
- The Curb Check and the cities page get their photograph, and no photograph prints any more.
- The big pictures move now, and the stakes have one.
- Ten trade pages ask whether your salon is better than its website, and now they show a salon.
- A commit message is copy, and the gates sweep it now.
- What you get, as its own section on the front page, and the philosophical line moved up to carry it.
- The booking page carries the price now.
- Five things the site said that were no longer true.
- The last two em dashes in the source are gone, and the comment about the call to action is true again.
- 2026-09-12
- Your door on every city page, the city already known, and on every trade page with its own city field.
- The ticker as a lookup. A place the lookup finds is said by the footer ticker's first item for one pass, on a red band in ink, then Atlanta, GA comes back.
- Print everything. Every page printed in the probe with its page count and anything past a Letter page's edge.
- N and P step through the notes and the guide follows after the scroll.
- /changes. The site's own history from git log at build, the first sentence of every commit, newest first, by day.
- Offline at the door. A worker that keeps the front page, the check and the booking page on the device, registered only when a page is opened with ?keep, Brandon's phone before a walk.
- The check remembers. A counted check shows under the booking button on the front page and every city and trade page: Your check: 7 of 10.
- /now. Four lines Brandon edits by hand in site.ts, dated: this month, walks, the last thing built, the next thing.
- The phone frame. A Device switch in the Design panel.
- Compare, on the prices. A fourth band under Both, The other ways in: an agency, a template, this, in three mono columns, ink on red when lit.
- The close. Every gate on every route of the close, 100 on both profiles.
- The Studio probe: the guide walk takes a step argument.
- One file. The frame is named and crossfades over 240ms, the bar and the footer stay put, nothing runs under reduced motion, and the film plays again on return.
- Proof. The plan, filled in for this site, at /the-plan/curbtoclick, seven parts in the voice, gaps and all, printed to two pages, linked from the plan, the Walkthrough band and the colophon.
- The check printed on one Letter page with the date, the score and the verdict at its head and the live address at its foot.
- What the tab remembers. The lookups and the check write place, score and noes, a city page writes its place on arrival, Your door writes the door.
- The way in. The booking form posts to Netlify Forms with a honeypot named curb and lands on /booked.
- The guide: the section holding an open note card rises above its neighbour, so a card that hangs past a short section is not painted over.
- The trades. trades.json from places.py, ten trades with sixty or more on the map and a fit of 3 or more in score.py: beauty salons, hair salons and barbershops, dentists, clothing stores, clinics, doctors' offices, law offices, veterinarians, massage studios, furniture stores.
- The map of everyone and Your door. points.json from places.py, decoded by lib/dots.ts.
- The Machines tab. A third tab in Layers shows the five plain facts with a check or a red dot, the type of every JSON-LD block on the page with the fields that matter, and the lines of llms.txt that belong to the page, cloned from a template on first open. llms.ts is the same text in named blocks with llmsFor(path).
- Every note has an address. Pins carry n1 to n12, #n5 opens note 5 on load with no dwell, and the card's Copy the link button copies it.
- 2026-09-11
- The guide. Brandon's cursor in the frame, moved by transform from pin to pin as the visitor scrolls, opening each note on arrival for four seconds.
- The final read at 1440 and 390 found one fault.
- The six share cards on the poster, rendered by a script that writes its own HTML, all under 15KB. humans.txt as a built route with the media block from credits.ts.
- The street is gone. Base and Page layouts, the street stylesheets, the storefront mark, the waffle, five Overpass files, the stops and the nav arrays, the two old ids.
- The Atlanta index as a walk of city bands under the map, and the city pages on Poster with the count as a tall band, the map marked, the three steps, the prices from the shared Prices component the homepage now reads too, the three questions and the close.
- The Curb Check as ten bands that light by answer, with the verdict as a tall band and the walk off.
- The booking page, the blank plan and the 404 on Poster, with the poster's fields, the pictures in their slots, their frames and notes.
- Article.astro on Poster's bones with the prose furniture.
- About on black, Brandon's call. No second film band, his call.
- Icons in the pause buttons, the ticker and the sheet's button, and out of the fact bands, which read as a feature list with them.
- The curtain with the film paused under it, the scroll's progress on the bar, the button sweep, the grid of one hundred, the count's own lookup, and the line from curb to click.
- Frame labels and badges, selection, Inspect, Grid, the twelve notes as pins with one card, Invert, the accent picker with its contrast lines, Fit, Hide UI, the shortcuts and their switch.
- The type in container units, the canvas and the frame with its label, the tool bar, Layers with the phone sheet and the Assets tab, Design with live frame rows, measured type, the fills, the grid, the exports, the shortcuts switch, and the Prototype flow.
- The frames, pages and notes in site.ts, the ids the pins and layers need, data-token on the homepage's type.
- The film's gates: 100 on both profiles, the poster preloaded and 12KB as AVIF so the phone's largest paint lands with the fonts, the video loads nothing until it plays.
- The film under the headline: the reel, the haze, the play rules, and the ticker's button holds the film too.
- The film: one clip, found on Pexels, recorded in credits.ts, cut to a 10s loop, encoded twice, its poster baked into the haze.
- Add ffmpeg-static for the film encode.
- Ignore the editor's launch config
- QA: the fit check as qa:fit, the AAA enhanced-contrast rule off for the hot red, ignore the phone Lighthouse file

- 01 · the log
A site that sells websites should show its own history. This is the log, read straight from the repository every time the site is built. I cannot edit it after the fact and neither can anyone else.
